Former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is set to take on a new role as a news anchor for One America News Network (OANN), according to multiple reports.

The network has begun promoting The Matt Gaetz Show, featuring the former congressman, with teaser images now visible on its website.

The show is listed as “coming soon.”

Kristen Holmes, a National Correspondent with CNN, reported that a “source familiar” with the matter confirmed Gaetz’s plans to join OANN as an anchor.

Gaetz initially accepted the nomination, but he later withdrew his name from consideration, citing the contentious nature of the confirmation process as a potential distraction.

“While the momentum was strong, it is clear that my confirmation was unfairly becoming a distraction to the critical work of the Trump/Vance Transition,” Gaetz said at the time.

“There is no time to waste on a needlessly protracted Washington scuffle, thus I’ll be withdrawing my name from consideration to serve as Attorney General.”

Gaetz’s transition from politics to media follows a tumultuous career in Congress, where he built a reputation as one of Trump’s most vocal supporters.

His new role at OANN is expected to amplify his platform as he steps into a broadcasting position for the conservative-leaning network.
