President-elect Donald Trump announced Sunday evening that Alina Habba, a prominent attorney and loyal advocate, will serve as counselor to the president in his upcoming administration.

The announcement was made in a Truth Social post where Trump lauded Habba’s legal expertise and steadfast commitment to his causes.
“Alina has been a tireless advocate for Justice, a fierce Defender of the Rule of Law, and an invaluable Advisor to my Campaign and Transition Team,” Trump wrote. “She has been unwavering in her loyalty, and unmatched in her resolve – standing with me through numerous ‘trials,’ battles, and countless days in Court.”
Trump further praised Habba as a “role model for women in Law and Politics” and credited her with having a deep understanding of the legal challenges he has faced, describing her as someone who has battled against “the full force of Lawfare with courage and an unshakable commitment to Justice.”
Shortly after Trump’s announcement, Habba expressed her gratitude in a post on X (formerly Twitter). “Honor of my life to serve the 45th and 47th President and the American people,” she wrote.

Habba has been a key figure in Trump’s legal team since 2021, representing him in a series of high-profile cases.
Among these is the ongoing lawsuit brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James, who accused Trump of undervaluing his Mar-a-Lago estate. James claimed the Palm Beach property is worth $17 million—a figure sharply contested, as smaller neighboring properties are valued at over $40 million.
The ruling was upheld by a Manhattan judge but is currently under appeal.

In addition to the Mar-a-Lago case, Habba has been instrumental in defending Trump in several lawsuits, including a defamation suit against the New York Times.
Her work has made her a prominent voice in Trump’s legal battles, and her speeches during the 2024 election cycle reinforced her unwavering support for the president-elect.
During the Republican National Convention in July, Habba praised Trump’s vision for America and his resilience against political and legal challenges. “Despite the lawfare and the politics, President Trump loves the American people and he loves this country,” Habba stated.
“For decades, the Trump Organization transformed skylines and created thousands of jobs. His buildings and businesses are a testament to his commitment to excellence and his drive to turn dreams into reality. But his greatest construction project was yet to come,” she continued.
Habba concluded her remarks with a promise of what’s to come in Trump’s second term. “The left has tried to demolish President Trump, but there is no bulldozer big enough or strong enough to remove the legacy that he has built or the future he is creating. As the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump built a legacy of putting America first. And as the 47th president, he will build America stronger than ever for we, the people.”

Habba’s new role as counselor to the president will position her as a key advisor in the Trump White House.
Her appointment signals a continuation of Trump’s focus on loyalty and experience, particularly with figures who have stood by him through legal and political challenges.
With a strong legal background and a history of advocacy for Trump’s policies, Habba’s presence is expected to play a significant role in shaping the administration’s strategies as it prepares for its term beginning in January.
