George Clooney, the celebrated Ocean’s Eleven star, finds himself in hot water with frustrated fans and political critics alike after Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign imploded, following a failed attempt to unseat former President Donald Trump.

As reported by Breitbart, Clooney, a longtime Democrat, had been vocal in advocating for President Joe Biden to step down and make way for Harris, a suggestion that’s now drawing sharp rebukes from those who feel his endorsement pushed an unprepared candidate into the spotlight.

In a New York Times op-ed penned last July, Clooney, 63, urged the 81-year-old president to bow out of the 2024 race. “We are not going to win in November with this president,” he asserted, adding, “This isn’t only my opinion; this is the opinion of every senator and Congress member and governor who I’ve spoken with in private.”

His push for a “new face” on the Democratic ticket was clear, with the actor implying Biden’s age and tenure made him unfit to lead a successful campaign.

When Biden announced he would step down on July 21, Clooney praised the decision as a “selfless” act, seemingly confident that Harris would carry the torch.

But as Harris’s 107-day sprint to Election Day failed to resonate with voters, critics are now turning their ire toward Clooney, who they see as an influencer responsible for this misstep.

One sarcastic critic took to social media, writing, “I would like to take a moment to thank George Clooney for shoving the most incompetent candidate down America’s throat to ensure a Trump victory. #MAGA.”

Another commentator group, altNOAA, posted on X, “Someone bring me George Clooney. We need to have a…talk.”

Clooney wasn’t the only prominent voice urging Biden to retire. Author Stephen King and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also encouraged the aging president to let go of his 2024 ambitions. Hollywood heavyweight Barbra Streisand, too, backed his decision, lauding Biden’s choice to clear the way for Harris.

Despite Clooney’s intentions, the backlash reflects a broader frustration with Hollywood elites who step into politics, often pushing agendas that appear out of touch with grassroots concerns.

Now, as America moves past the Harris campaign and Trump takes office again, Clooney faces mounting discontent from those who feel his involvement fueled the Democratic debacle.
