Kamala Harris’ attempt to energize her campaign through a media blitz appeared to falter as Fox News host Jesse Watters showcased clips from her recent “60 Minutes” interview, highlighting her vague and evasive responses on key issues.

Harris, who kicked off a weeklong media tour in the final month of the 2024 election cycle, faced tough questions from CBS News correspondent Bill Whitaker, leading to a series of moments that critics say left her exposed.
During an episode of Jesse Watters Primetime, the Fox News host played snippets from the interview that centered around immigration, gun ownership, and economic policies, painting Harris’ performance as a series of missteps. Watters remarked, “Kamala Harris’ media blitz is already bombing. ’60 Minutes’ just grilled her on immigration, she had nothing.”
In one segment, Whitaker pressed Harris on the record number of undocumented immigrants crossing the U.S. southern border during the Biden administration’s first three years. “Arrivals quadrupled from the last year of President Trump,” Whitaker pointed out, asking whether loosening immigration policies had been a mistake.
Harris deflected, stating that the administration had been “offering solutions” from day one, but avoided directly addressing the sharp increase in border crossings.
Whitaker restated the question: “Was it a mistake to kind of allow that flood to happen in the first place?” Harris responded, “I think the policies that we have been proposing are about fixing a problem, not promoting a problem,” but once again evaded giving a clear answer.
When Whitaker pointed out that the numbers had quadrupled under her watch, Harris claimed the situation had improved and attempted to shift the blame to Congress for not resolving the border crisis.
“She had nothing,” Watters commented after showing the clip. He then transitioned to another part of the interview where Harris was asked about gun ownership.
When Whitaker asked if she owned a gun, Harris replied, “I have a Glock, and I’ve had it for quite some time. My background is in law enforcement.” She laughed as she confirmed that she had fired it at a shooting range.
Watters expressed disbelief at Harris’ reaction, stating, “Not sure what’s so funny about that,” pointing to what he called another awkward moment in the interview.

Country music icon John Rich pointed out Kamala’s Glock hypocrisy, stating that she was in favor of banning the handgun she owns.
Kamala says she owns a Glock. She was also in favor of banning what she called “high capacity magazines” which is anything over 7 rounds. Every Glock magazine holds at least ten rounds, and most hold more than 15. She’s a joke with endless punchlines.

It’s worth noting that when she was San Francisco’s District Attorney, she sponsored a far-reaching handgun ban that would have banned the very gun that she now is saying that she owns and would shoot an intruder with as if she wasn’t surrounded by Secret Service agents armed with even higher powered weapons.

The Fox News host also highlighted Harris’ comments on the Israel-Hamas conflict, where she provided a convoluted response to a question about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s actions. “I don’t know what she just said there,” Watters remarked, adding, “Even ’60 Minutes’ told her she’s not living in the real world.”
The interview further delved into economic policy, where Harris promoted a $50,000 tax deduction for small business startups.
Watters criticized the proposal, framing it as an unrealistic and oversimplified solution to complex economic challenges.
He also took issue with Harris’ remarks on selective service and abortion rights, accusing her of overlooking the legal reality of regulations regarding men’s and women’s bodies.
“No one knows what she’s talking about,” Watters concluded. “Does Kamala even know what she’s talking about?”
Kamala Harris went from being the next @BarackObama to being the new @HillaryClinton. Democrats are worried @KamalaHarris is running the same “play-it-safe” campaign. Joy is now turning into dread, so Obama is ordering Harris to do more interviews. The problem? Kamala’s talking… pic.twitter.com/zbNONjEed5

As the 2024 election approaches, Harris’ media appearances are drawing scrutiny, and her performance on “60 Minutes” may have only intensified questions about her campaign’s messaging and preparedness.
With critics pointing to her lack of clear answers on major issues, Harris faces growing challenges in connecting with voters in the final stretch of the campaign.
