Encounters with known or suspected terrorists at the border have risen substantially under the Biden-Harris administration, data from the U.S. Customs and Border Control reveals.

Just 14 encounters with known or suspected terrorists took place under Donald Trump’s administration, according to the data. President Biden’s administration, which placed “border czar” Kamala Harris in charge of immigration security, saw that number beaten in the first year of his presidency alone, with 16 encounters.

It’s the previous three years, however, where the numbers truly become shocking. 2022 saw 98 encounters with known or suspected terrorists at the border, with the following year yielding 172. Although 2024 isn’t set to surpass that peak, it’s likely this year’s figure, currently standing at 94, will surpass 2022.

Biden’s worst year saw a 2,867% increase from Trump’s worst year for terrorist encounters.
