Musk, recently announced as a co-leader of the incoming Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), addressed the crowd with a message of transformation and accountability.

“As President Trump said, what we need is common sense,” Musk told attendees. “This won’t be business as usual. This is going to be a revolution.”

The Department of Government Efficiency, a newly created initiative under the Trump administration, is tasked with identifying and eliminating trillions of dollars in waste and fraud within federal spending.

Musk will lead the effort alongside former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. Together, they aim to overhaul government operations to reduce inefficiency and restore accountability.

“Importantly, we will drive out the massive waste and fraud which exists throughout our annual $6.5 Trillion Dollars of Government Spending,” Trump said in his announcement of the DOGE leaders.

“They will work together to liberate our Economy, and make the U.S. Government accountable to ‘WE THE PEOPLE.’”

Musk, who owns X (formerly Twitter) and serves as CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has been a visible supporter of Trump’s campaign for the White House, making appearances at several rallies leading up to the election.

His new role in the administration reflects his broader push for innovation and disruption in traditional industries and, now, government operations.

Trump emphasized the duo’s mission to “dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies.”

The president-elect also highlighted their unique outsider perspectives, saying they would bring “advice and guidance from outside of Government” and partner with the White House and the Office of Management and Budget to drive sweeping structural reform.

Ramaswamy, a biotech entrepreneur and vocal advocate for reducing government overreach, will work alongside Musk to implement entrepreneurial principles within the federal government.

Their goal, according to Trump, is to create “an entrepreneurial approach to Government never seen before.”

During his remarks at the gala, Musk echoed Trump’s vision for a transformative presidency, stating, “I think this will be the most transformative presidency, perhaps since the founding of the country… It’s going to be a revolution!”

Musk and Ramaswamy’s efforts are expected to focus on streamlining federal operations, cutting unnecessary spending, and fostering innovation in government processes.

The Department of Government Efficiency is one of several new initiatives planned for Trump’s administration as he prepares to take office.

The gala, which celebrated Trump’s victory and his America First policy priorities, brought together key allies and supporters as the president-elect outlined his vision for the next four years.

With Musk and Ramaswamy at the helm of DOGE, Trump’s administration is signaling a commitment to large-scale reform aimed at creating a leaner, more efficient federal government.
