Following his release, Bannon immediately returned to his media platform, directing a warning at former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and what he called her “progressive insanity,” which he claims the Republican Party is poised to end in the upcoming election.
“The four months in federal prison not only didn’t break me, it empowered me,” Bannon said in a statement. “I am more energized and more focused than I’ve ever been in my entire life.”
Bannon’s prison sentence stemmed from his defiance of a subpoena from the House committee investigating the events of January 6, 2021.
The committee, which Bannon and his supporters have criticized as partisan, was composed of members chosen by then-Speaker Pelosi.
Bannon had declined to provide documents and testimony, citing executive privilege, which led to his contempt of Congress conviction in October 2022.
Addressing Pelosi directly, Bannon said, “Nancy Pelosi sent me to a federal prison… she wanted to break me.” He continued, “Nancy Pelosi, take out your number two pencil and write this down: We’re gonna deliver a knockout blow to your progressive insanity on November 5th.”
Bannon’s early-morning release marked his swift return to his political commentary role, where he assured his audience that his time behind bars had only increased his commitment to conservative causes. “The four months in federal prison not only didn’t break me, it empowered me,” he reiterated, adding, “I can see clearly, just like in 2016 and in 2020, exactly what’s going on here and what we have to do to defeat it.”
Bannon also referenced recent rhetoric used by Democrats against Trump supporters, whom he claimed are being disparaged as “fascists.”
He pointed to the high-energy Trump rally held last week at Madison Square Garden, saying that such events reveal the enthusiasm of conservative Americans, which he argued is unmatched by the current Democratic base.
“Calling this audience… calling you ‘fascists,’ saying that amazing rally in Madison Square Garden could never be pulled off by Kamala Harris or the Democrats,” Bannon said. “I can tell you, coming from a federal prison, that young men in this country who are African-American and Hispanic — they detest Kamala Harris.”
NEW: Steve Bannon tells Nancy Pelosi she will never break him, calls on the American people to rush to the polls and vote.

Bannon has consistently portrayed himself as a voice for conservatives who feel overlooked by mainstream media and government institutions.
His War Room podcast has been a platform for his analysis of issues such as government overreach, economic policies, and what he calls the “establishment’s” efforts to suppress conservative voices.
Before turning himself in for his prison term, Bannon had publicly criticized the U.S. Justice Department, describing his imprisonment as a political maneuver designed to silence both him and his supporters.
Since his release, he has maintained that his sentence only strengthened his resolve, concluding, “They empowered me.”
