Oran Routh, the son of Ryan Routh, who is currently facing charges related to an alleged plot targeting former President Donald Trump, has found himself in hot water.

Oran was arrested after federal investigators discovered “hundreds” of illegal files in his possession. Prosecutors stated the files were of an extremely disturbing nature and were uncovered during a search of his home in Guilford County, North Carolina, as reported by ABC News.

The search, initially linked to a separate investigation, revealed that Oran Routh was in possession of child pornography. He is now facing two serious federal charges: the receipt and possession of child pornography, as confirmed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of North Carolina.

The illegal content was found on two devices, both Samsung Galaxy Notes—one located in Oran’s bedroom and another device in his possession. The criminal complaint described hundreds of videos linked to a well-known series of illegal content produced outside the state of North Carolina.

In addition to the disturbing content, investigators also discovered a chat from July where Oran allegedly interacted with an online vendor advertising the sale of illegal materials.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office filed the charges following this evidence and planned for Oran to make his first court appearance in North Carolina later this week. Prosecutors are expected to request that Oran be kept in custody while the case moves forward. So far, Oran has not hired an attorney.

Meanwhile, Oran’s father, Ryan Routh, is also facing legal troubles. He was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm and possessing a firearm with an obliterated serial number.

These charges stem from a situation at Trump International Golf Club on September 15. Prosecutors have indicated they will push for the grand jury to consider charges that Ryan Routh attempted to assassinate former President Trump.

Although the two investigations involving the father and son are unrelated, both have captured significant attention due to their timing and the nature of the accusations.

The Routh family has now found themselves at the center of two separate federal cases, and with mounting charges, the situation isn’t looking any better for either man.

Oran Routh’s case is just beginning, and many will be watching closely as his legal battle unfolds.
